365 days. One exceptional wine.
Hastwell & Lightfoot, a family-owned winery in South Australia’s picturesque McLaren Vale, has been crafting premium wines since 1988. Their dedication to quality and innovation, blending traditional and modern techniques, produces wines that express the unique terroir of their vineyards.
‘Once Around the Sun’ derives its name from the wine’s unique 365-day extended maceration process. This year-long technique enhances complexity, creating rich, nuanced flavours. It has been matured ‘once around the sun’ and will continue to develop with extended time in the cellar.
The label design for ‘Once Around the Sun’ was conceived to embody simplicity and elegance, distinguishing it as a premium offering in the Hastwell & Lightfoot range. The choice of a black label serves as a sophisticated backdrop, accentuated by copper foil highlights and high-build gloss elements that enhance the visual appeal and tactile experience.
The design features simple geometric shapes that represent the Earth’s full rotation around the sun over 365 days, with high-gloss rings symbolising planetary orbits. This minimalist approach not only captures the essence of the wine’s name, but also ensures the label stands out on the shelf.
